Back in the day (I love saying back in the day). The brokerage roll was different. Before the internet and cloud based MLS, and E-Signatures, etc etc. The Brokerage procured most of the transactions and passed them on to the associate agents in the office. This made the traditional split (70/30, 80/20, Etc) palatable for the agent. As the digital age expanded came the birth of the Flat fee brokerage. Early adopters jumped on right away noticing that they were in-fact the procuring cause of the transaction therefor paying 30 or 40% to the brokerage seemed asinine. The new model "Flat fee" brokerage settled comfortably into their roll in the do-little, charge little, transactional relationship with there agents and they enjoyed massive growth! 

As the flat fee model expanded the early brands now had competition and just providing legal protection, and an office out of necessity is no longer enough. This situation is beautiful for agents if they are on the right team. Clients have a choice who to hire as their agent, and you have a choice of who you want to hire as your brokerage. BIG ANNOUNCEMENT:  $0 MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP FEE*  THAT IS RIGHT....NO MONTHLY BROKERAGE FEE!  Historically EPIC has charged a $100 monthly fee to each agent.  We are making the change to protect our agents. The number of  active listings on the market is decreasing.  The market is getting more competitive for realtors, which will drive-up your expenses and put pressure on commissions.  Where every dollar counts, you need a brokerage that has your back and has your best interest at heart. This is why we have made the decision to remove this cost. We are also working to reduce transaction fees even lower than our current $500/transaction as well and expect to do so by Q2 2021.
